Not all types of make-up affect acne, so you need not to stop wearing makeup altogether. You should use oil-free, non-comedogenic brands of make-up which are less likely to cause pore blockages and breakouts.

You should also avoid using products that contain fragrances as they may irritate your skin and can cause allergic reactions. Makeup products marked as “hypoallergenic” and “fragrance free”are good for your skin.

  • Wash your face gently before applying makeup. Also, too much scouring and scrubbing can hurt your skin and cause it to produce more acne.
  • Try using an oil-free or water-based foundation and skip heavy, thick foundations that increases the grease on your face.
  • Clean your face to wash all of your make-up before you go to bed. Cleansing at night will remove dirt, excess oil and sweat.

Makeup can give you self confidence, if you feel embarrassed about your skin. So, wear it without worries! But remember to wash your makeup before going to bed.

Clean skin is always a healthy skin.
