There can be various reasons for your skin to become dry in winter. Cold and dry air in winter is the prime reason for your dry skin. Besides the cold winds, hot drinks like coffee and tea that contain caffeine can also make your skin dry from the inside. Even hot showers that make you feel great in winter is actually bad for your skin.
We have listed 3 very simple remedies to treat your dry skin in winter:
Stay Moisturized:
Cold air, unlike warm air, does not have much tendency to retain moisture. Therefore, to keep cool air from drying your skin, include moisturizer in your routine. It locks water into your skin’s upper layer. For best results, apply the moisturizer after bathing as the skin is wet.
Scoop Some Milk Cream:
Milk cream contains lactic acid which helps treat dry skin. You can apply a mixture of few drops of lime, a teaspoon of milk and about two spoons of milk cream onto your hands and legs. Rinse it off when you take a bath and see the effect immediately.
A Vitamin-E Boost:
Use vitamin-E capsules to exfoliate your dry skin. Apply its oil mixed with few drops of lime all over your body. Take a shower and feel the difference!
Other than these remedies, you should drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated. Also, use lukewarm water rather than using hot water during a shower. You can also add a few drops of coconut or Lavender oil in the water while you bath. Wear protective clothing and sunscreen to protect your skin from getting dry and damaged in winter.
